My mother was recently diagnosed with severe Hyponatremia disease, a condition where there is an imbalance in the concentration of sodium salt in the body.

According to doctors and medical books, if the concentration falls below 110 mEq/L, it can be fatal for the patient. My mother had 95 mEq/L when she was admitted to the hospital!

She had to be put in a ventilating machine as her conditon deteriorated day by day.

In such severe cases, correction of the sodium level can cause sufficient damage to brain, which could result in paralysis or coma.

However, must be due to a miracle, my mother is now out of the ventilator, but her nerves and muscles are not in a normal state. Doctors believe that prolonged supportive care is the only way that she could return back to normal.

My mother had a very active life - she is a school teacher and also runs a charity organization. She was the prime earner in the family and she being admitted to the hospital has been a terrible blow for us, mentally as well as financially.

It has already been a month and half that she has been admitted to the hospital, and medical care is very expensive out here.

I am trying as much as I can, as hard as I can, to save her, but costs are piling up.
